About "the white gallery"

Last year 'the white gallery' started as a spontaneous experiment, best described as the experience of following myself within a time confined space (13 weeks, 16 July- 16 Oct), no preparation whatsoever... just curiosity... confronting seemingly non-existent expectations... (jumping into the deep end, remembering Joseph Knecht's ending towards the end of Herman Hesse's novel 'The Glass bead game', hahaha... so, yes.... scary!)

The blog soon followed, a means to register an end in progress.

Outside it's a different season every 30 minutes, a typical early spring day in Duirinish.

Have been busy preparing the white gallery for business! 

(and.... tonite, playing around with a different Blog format, hahaha...)

These beauties checking out the shelf, keeping warm above the radiator!

working away in the gallery/workshop!

Suddenly it dawns on me, amidst all the conjured up thoughts about "how".
"How" to do this, "how" to do that, blah blah, blaaah...

A vulnerable figure rolled up into full moon shape, revealing a face-like image, scratching its chin.
1st in an edition of 6 (each of them executed slightly different)

Final day was yesterday,
no fuss,
just let it happen.

just passing through having a look,
not sticking around getting bogged down,

taking leave.

making distance,
stretching the connection.

hahaha...

 

DAY 70

So... closing the project...

Pressure is building up.

I haven't given much thought on HOW, it seems, not planned it.

Attention has been with following the fluid contents of my intention.
The presence of INTENTION, without knowing its direction, without direction full stop... hahaha.
Not planning HOW,
letting HOW show itself.
Steering without steering.
hahaha.... pressure building up!

The 13 week experience,
it is what it is,
was what it was,
will be what it is made to be.

Let the experience go,
do something with the "leftovers",
the notes, the scribbles,

going back to take forward,
take some distance, (een aanloop, a run-up)

WEEK XIII - DAY 67

On the 1st day of this final week,
shutting it down,
closing off, 
letting go,
very autumn like, mmm...

A 13 week long experience, rather than experiment.
A heady start again this morning, towards the end of week 12,
somewhere in between closing and opening I suppose.

Not a cloud in sight...

Boxes, boxes, boxes,
they take care of their contents,

there's a load on the way, hahaha,
can't wait. 

WEEK XII - DAY 61

A lead taking me...
around the corner...

hadn't been expecting these HEADY releases last week,
and they seem to be flowing over into this week as well.
I' m helpless in the moment, 
helpless in my ability to decant them.
Lacking jugs, 
the confrontation with REALITY, mind altering.
I suppose I'm following this project in its wind down,
experiencing a boost of energy...
a rather exhausting boost of energy...
hahaha...

Recognition,

time to slow down,
unplanned,
unforced,
just following a lead.

Practising clouds in the studio.

So, week XI into the project, 2 more weeks to go after this one,

mmm...

Separating Imagination from Reality,

experiencing the connection between them,

the confusion.

Following and steering, hahaha.. sounds all so serious, I'll have a wee dance now!

Feeding off exhaustion.

Satisfaction is often confused for happiness.
Searching gives me satisfaction, even if the results don't,
and it's in this satisfaction that I often find the happiness I confuse it with, hahaha... just one these days I'm afraid!
